This project spanned much more than just the kitchen of this beautiful home. From the kitchen – including a banquette dining area – to the built-in shelving nook in the adjoining living room, to reworking the back entry to create a mud room, to the laundry and powder room. It was quite an undertaking, and we could not be happier with how all the pieces came together. The flow of these areas was much improved thanks to a few subtle layout changes.

We removed the peninsula that broke up the kitchen and living room, which provided us an opportunity to add an island with seating and storage.
Closing up an additional door into the laundry room allowed us to utilize that entire wall for cabinetry, creating a great focal point.
Building in banquette seating where the homeowners previously had a freestanding breakfast dining area created a cozy area for enjoying a meal or hosting family game night.
In the back entry area between the garage and laundry room, we added a wall, door, and a bit of storage, creating a mudroom that is beautiful and functional in what was once unused space. Rounding out the design we updated the laundry and powder bath.
We are so grateful to be able to improve the flow of these spaces to better suit this family’s needs, all while updating these spaces to last for years to come!
