Nothing was overlooked in this kitchen remodel! With a busy young family, the name of the game for this project was increased storage and functionality. We achieved that through several small changes that made a big impact!

Previously there was limited pantry storage in the kitchen, but with built-in floor to ceiling cabinetry next to the ovens, snack storage is no longer a problem.

This larder cabinet was a welcome addition for housing a coffee making station complete with a water filtration system. The pocket doors are an excellent feature which give the option of hiding away the contents of the cabinet or opening it up fully for easy access.

The adjoining dining room was underutilized, so we opted to take down the wall and bring that space into the kitchen, creating more storage & counter space and a better flow.

A nice tradeoff for ditching the dining room was a breakfast bar for additional seating, but with a smaller footprint.

Widening the doorway between the kitchen and living room makes for a much more open feeling, which is also magnified by carrying the wood flooring into the kitchen.

These built-in lockers have been a game changer for this family! Items once squished into the laundry room (see below) now have a designated home, hidden away behind crisp, beautiful cabinet doors.

Originally, we considered extending this laundry closet to make a larger space, but decided not to since it would take space away from the kitchen. Thankfully, making a couple of small changes – flipping the washer and dryer, adding a hanger bar, and relocating many of the everyday items to the lockers in the kitchen – this small laundry room is doing a lot of work!
